Grilled chicken chef salad was excellent! My husband loved his catfish basket. Pleasant service.

Sweet tea was awesome! Food was over fried. Too brown hard crust.

The people working here are RUDE. Rude enough to deserve all caps!. Fries were just ok. Bacon burger had 1 slice of bacon broken into 3 small bits. Burger tasted good. Better than chains but nothing special for a local joint. Won't be back.

This was my first time, and the food was so good!!! And the car hop was super polite.

Everyone in Lufkin knows that this is the best burger joint in town. There's a reason its been around like 70 years. Everything is good but we go for burgers. My husband likes the Western burger and I get the Texas Ranch burger. Grab a chocolate malt too. You can park and eat, go inside or call in an order. We LOVE Rays!

If you ever pass by Lufkin, please make sure to stop at this delicious burger joint. It is reminiscent of papas burgers. So good I forgot to take a picture before I bit into these amazing burgers!

Good little mom and pop joint. Food was good. I had a chill cheese burger and fries. My wife had the shrimp basket. Everything tasted home cooked. We will definitely go back.

Lived here for 9 years and never ate here before. I ordered dered the Ray's Special burger, hands down the best burger I have eaten in this town. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. Very busy place at lunchtime. Great food and service.

Ray's has been a Lufkin staple since 1959. With a drive in, drive-thru, indoor and outdoor seating... There's plenty of options for getting your burger fix. Ray's is known for their amazing burgers, steak, chicken and fish baskets and their onion rings. They serve beer and frozen "adult" drinks. The newly remodeled dining room provides a great dinner atmosphere. The wait can be a while but.. good things take time.

The food is cooked like it was back in the 50's, staff is friendly. It's always clean..good place for family to take time to enjoy lunch or supper.

The food and service are usually good but today 7/24/20 both sucked!! I was extremely disappointed with the wait time and the food wasn’t good at all! Frito pie was too greasy to eat and the fish was fishy and cold by the time I got it and I had to turn around and come back to the restaurant because they forgot to put my frito pie in the bag. And they only had one carhop at 5:30 pm. Highly disappointed!!

This place looks like something you'd see in Happy Days. It's a drive-in with a diner counter and s nice outdoor seating area. The theme is classic cars. Other reviewers raved about the onion rings, which were definately handmade, but tasted like straight flour. The mixed drinks were weak. But, the burgers were fabulous. I had a chili cheese burger and savored every bite.

The food is SO GOOD!! I got a 1/2 order Steak Finger Basket and it was just right!!!

Was told the restaurant closes at 8:45 pm. They need to change their hours if that’s the case because google still says 9 pm.

Excellent place to eat

I don't go very often but when I do I'm usually disappointed. It just seems like everything is made as an afterthought the burgers are very greasy and it seems to take forever to come out. That being said it's a Lufkin institution and there's probably going to be a hundred people pop up to tell me that I'm wrong. I'm not saying don't go I'm just saying don't expect a lot. Ray's if you don't get on the ball your competitors are going to pass you by.

We showed up a little too close to closing, but they were accommodating and still took our order. That Texas ranch burger is lit. 💯

Great food good prices friendly staff. Everything I ordered was good. Car hop ram her bitt off for everyone to get people served as soon as she could.

Very confusing at first until u realize it's a counter top service. With that there is no table side service, which I'm ok with. It was a lot of little thing I observed while being here( and possibly the fact that I ordered a jalapeno cheeseburger and the jalapenos weren't present) that warented the three stars...so it may have been just our visit. None the less may be worth giving a try!

Hidden gem a short distance from the main highways. Local favorite. Ordered the Ray's burger, onion rings and fries. Wonderful food!

I love Ray's, but was very disappointed today at lunch. I ordered a cheeseburger to go, got back to work and the burger had almost no meat. It was very thin, not even a pattie, just small broken thin pieces of meat place on the bun. It didn't even cover the whole bun. It just covered maybe half the bun.The cheese was thicker than what meat was on it. The burger was mainly just bread, mayo lettuce, tomato with cheese. I was very disappointed. I would have rather an employee tell me it will take longer to fix because they had to fix another one for me or have them tell me that the ran out of meat and I needed to order something else.

This is a great place to eat. My family and I stopped in after a softball tournament and ordered sone burgers and chicken nuggets. The burger was very flavorful and juicy. The service was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through the area.

Called ahead to place my order this time, as I have many times before, and just like each time I call, they were friendly and very helpful. I'm usually ordering for family members and the staff at this location is always accommodating and don't mind taking the time to help even if it takes several minutes to place an order. They go over the details until the burgers, sides, or whatever else I may need are ordered to perfection, then prepare them exactly as ordered! Never had to send anything back, not once. Some people say Ray's is a little pricey, but I say you get what you pay for. Sure don't get this level of service at a McDonald's or Burger King 😂

This is a great local burger joint that anyone visiting Lufkin must enjoy. Their burgers taste dramatically different than most of the other fast food places that serve hamburgers, and in a positive way! Really good juicy burgers, with grilled buns. The staff is nice, the atmosphere is amazing, and the best part is it's one of the old style retro drive-in burger joints as well.

GOOD FOOD. I RECOMMEND THE RAYS SPECIAL BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO EAT A BIG DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER. CHICKEN STRIP BASKET IS ALSO GREAT.

I think it's a great place and has been for 42 years. I have enjoyed their food and their service since I was about 18 years old!

It takes some 'oomph' to beat Mom's hamburgers....you did it. People in Lufkin sure are lucky having Mom's and Ray's.

This place was awesome! Speedy service, affordable, and delicious. I got myself a bacon-cheese burger with chili-cheese fries with a blue Hawaiian adult slushie for the drink. It was amazing and probably the best place I've eaten at in Lufkin. I definitely olan on going back before this job is done. At 3.50 for the adult slushie I'm going on my day off..lol
